David Hoover

I grew up on a farm in Edwards, a small retirement community in the Ozarks of southern central Missouri.  I studied for a while at Central Missouri State University, David Hoover, Student Ministerand moved to Kansas City in 1994.  I graduated from the University of Saint Mary in 2003.  I have been married for 9 years to my beautiful and talented wife, Susan.  We live in Grandview, Missouri.  We both love animals and we have a small menagerie of cats, a dog, and fish.  When I am not helping out here at IBCC, I work for Embarq, a telecommunications company that was formerly a division of Sprint.

I enjoy games, puzzles, cartoons, humor, movies, and books.  You may find me to be a bit quiet when you first meet me, but I am a people person and I always enjoy meeting new people and sharing in the fellowship and love of Jesus.

I am currently a student at St. Paul School of Theology, about to begin my second year of studies with them.  It is my intent to become an ordained Lutheran minister.  It was through the contextual education office at Saint Paul that I became aware of the Micah ministry here at IBCC.  Through the Micah ministry I met Pastor Lee, who informed me of the student minister opportunity.  I hope that I can be as positive an influence on your lives as IBCC has already been upon mine.
