Poor People’s Campaign Meeting

Every State's Poor People's Campaign is gearing up for a March 2nd rally at their State Capitol.  All states will rally at 11am.  More information will come about parking, riding together, etc. for the Missouri rally in Jefferson City.  Please connect with your state leadership team if you are from Kansas.

So, please plan to mobilize any of your friends, colleagues, and congregations to join the rally.  Begin inviting them now.

If you cannot join in person but want to help in leading this event, please let me know....and let me know zoom is the only way you could participate.

There is a lot to do to get ready, but we can do this as we each take our part. Please join us on the 8th as we see who is willing and able to apply their skills to the various opportunities ranging from media, photography, marshalling, press, transportation, personal invitations, prayer, etc.  We're hoping to have National leadership present at this meeting to support our preparations.

The National PPC will be kicking off the anticipation of the state rallies through a virtual online rally this Monday, Feb 5th. It will be livestreamed here: https://www.poorpeoplescampaign.org/  if you want to attend, but it is most important to connect with your state planning team for helping to get this going.

Our big focus is to share the demands for a Third Reconstruction with our elected officials and to mobilize voters around these issues during this enormous election year. 40% of our country lives in poverty. About 1/3 of the electorate are poor & low wage workers, but many did not vote in the last election. Rallying those most impacted and getting them to vote with knowledge of the issues can turn all the elections. Almost 800 people die every day in our country due to poverty—it's the 4th leading cause of death.  "We are addressing policy murder... We are NOT the INSURRECTION, but WE ARE the RESURRECTION of JUSTICE and LOVE."
